Update 03/19/2010: They have changed the format of this race. Last year they included a Giants baseball game after the race. This year the game is on Friday night (the day before the race.) We will need to stay overnight or drive both days if we want to see the Giants vs As game (the price is included in the race registration). This was a very fun event last year. Let me know if this changes things for you, and if we should cancel the trip.

Below is a description of the trip last year:

Project Open Hand and the San Francisco Giants will host The Giant Race Half Marathon and 5K races. This is the only fun run in which participants will have the unique opportunity to cross Home Plate at AT&T Park. Free tickets to that day’s Giants baseball game are included.
Your race registration will include the run/walk across home plate, an event t-shirt, a game ticket for the first 3,000 registrants, and a pre-game festival with live music, food, giveaways, awards ceremony, and kids corner. The RAT Pack has a Group Discount for this event. You must register for the race. Although race registratin is not available at this time.
We will ride in a rented van or carpool depending on the number of people who attend the trip. RSVP "yes" if you want to attend. The trip will cost $30 per person.
